Gender in Education

 reflection/question blog

For this topic I am ambiguous to this, some of the content, for the science behind it I do not understand. I have questions on how does not only grant students or people their fair right to be who they are/ born as but questions on why such pushback is adamant. I did some research and googling and it surprised me with the lack of knowledge or grandeur of entitlement lawmakers have in the polices concerning gender and sex when it comes to education as a whole. The image below shows data based upon the current environment students who identify in sexuality and gender.
Looking at this data is staggering that the lack of educators who are not educated on sex and gender at least not accepting of students who have different identities in gender and sex. Here below is an article that was able to answer some of my questions, but also shed light on educators and how they can be educated on sex and gender as well: https://bera-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/rev3.3440

REFLECTION: It is important that as educators that we stay educated on the changing lives of our students that have impacted them for life. As educators we must find resources to better understand the world around us and who our students are.

QUESTION FOR CLASS: What are the best resources for educators to stay educated on gender and sex?
