Title: What is Neurodiversity Author: Caroline Miller Hyperlink: https://childmind.org/article/how-schools-can-support-neurodiverse-students/
With Neurodiversity in education it is a challenge for educators to accept but also work with. Every Student is different in every case. Which is why it is important that there are modifications and accommodations for students learning. Such plans like IEPs help educators deliver the right quality education each child that are and are not neurodivergent. In the article it was mention that Neurodivergence is described as a their is a natural variation in which the brain works, each brain works in its own way with neurodivergence. Students who are neurodivergent may struggle, but there are many strengths that they show. One strength in particular is creativity, which is commonly seen in ADHD and Dyslexia .
As i read the article one of the many topics surrounding neurodiversity was using it as an identity. what commonly was used back in the past as a way to divide those who are different, has now development into a movement and an identity which many would say to take back that division and show inclusivity of belonging and acceptance.
I love that you brought up examples of how accommodations can be done in a classroom, I did similar in my own blog post but focused more on physical modifications
